Product Design deals with designing user centric products, systems and experiences. It takes care of issues such as ergonomics, functionality, aesthetics, market requirements, manufacturing & technology etc towards improving the quality of life and environment. Students through hands on projects are encouraged to design industrial products, tools and equipment, lighting, packaging, musical instruments, medical equipments, transportation and socially responsible systems that would make life more easier and simpler.
ID > Furniture & Interior Design
Furniture Design deals with designing ergonomic furniture and structures for living, working and leisure environments such as office, schools, hospitals, restaurants, garden & lounge and public spaces to name a few. Students through their projects will get to explore a variety of natural and synthetic materials, joinery details and finishes.
Interior Design deals with organization of Interior elements such as furniture, flooring and wall finishes, lighting and appropriate color schemes based on various themes. Students get to work on interior spaces of homes, offices, shops, hotels, restaurants and public areas such as waiting rooms of a railway station, airport lounges, etc. They also get an eye for selecting furniture, tapestries, paintings and other objects to decorate the vertical and horizontal surfaces and spaces.

Accessory Design deals with designing life style personal accessories that define individual style and taste of the user. From products such as bags,jewelry, spectacles to life style interior accessories such as paper weights, pen/pencil holders, salt & pepper containers, cutlery, shelves, lighting come under this range. Students are encouraged and equipped to constantly look at the changing global fashion trends. They also learn to work with materials such as precious metals, gold, silver and leather apart from wood and metal.
CD > Graphic Design
Students specialising in Graphic Design are trained to deal with traditional and new media with a strong foundation laid on typography and composition. Students get to work on various projects related to branding, publication design, packaging graphics, illustration, info graphics, developmental communication, interactive design and environmental graphic design.
CD > Film and Video
Students who take up Film and Video Design as their specialization are introduced to the medium through conceptual courses that introduce film-language, film theory, script-writing, storyboarding, sound design, image making along with practical experience of making films of various genre such as short fiction films, advertising films and documentary films.
CD > Animation Film Design
Students have the opportunity to explore the medium of Animation through hand drawn animation, clay animation and stop motion. They are trained to conceptualise an animation from a concept through various processes of scripting, character design, lighting and production. Students are encouraged to use the techniques to make promotional films, ad films or social messages.

The Interaction Design programme at DJAD seeks to help the student develop critical insights and creative resolutions towards a digitally inspired future. The course looks beyond the design of flat screen interfaces, to future potentials in areas such as tangibility, multi-sensory experiences, and objectified meaningfulness. The course begins with the learning of basic ingredients for Interaction Design and then extends to imaginative exploration through research and experimentation.
